Our Mission
Our Mission
The NEST is committed to fostering health and well-being by providing nourishment and other vital supports to all members of our campus community. We aim to alleviate the presence of hunger and food insecurity in the lives of our students, employees, and their families. In our effort to fight against hunger, we gather and store basic necessities and distribute them with a compassionate hand. We respect the vulnerability and dignity of each person we serve. The NEST, a free-choice food pantry, is an open and inclusive facility that honors the rights and needs of all those who come to our door.
We are a volunteer driven organization. Without their dedication and continuous effort we would not be able to continue to serve our community.

The NEST is here to support you and your family. Each week, we can provide both perishable and non-perishable groceries to you, and we often have a selection of personal care items available as well.
Our Clothing Boutique, open on Wednesdays, offers new clothing for students and family members who may need it. We also have a calculator loan program available for students, just ask one of our volunteers for information.
If you are finding it difficult to manage the financial demands of college, we encourage you to talk with us. We may be able to connect you with additional programs, services, and community resources that can help ease the burden. Please don't hesitate to ask—we're here to help.
The NEST follows the Nassau Community College schedule.
If the College closes for holidays, inclement weather, or emergencies, The NEST will also be closed. Please check the schedule on the website or follow us on Instagram @nccthenest for the most up-to-date hours.

Location
We are located in the lower level of North Hall, near the bookstore. Look for the blue awning on the side of the building.
"We're so much more than a food pantry... we are a family."

"The food I get every week from The NEST allows me to use money I would have spent in the grocery store for other items I need."
